DH Lescombes Winery

Another great Harvest Host location. Huge parking lot. Very good wines. Pam and I did a wine tasting and then bought a couple of bottles. Met Bob and Angie from Michigan. Bob brews beer in he’s RV. Had a bottle of his Pale Ale – great.

Lescombs Winery

Another Harvest Host location for an over night stay. Wine was very nice. Great weather. Met some very nice people. Bob and Angie are full timers who brew beer in their RV! Bob shared a bottle of his pale Ale, and it was very enjoyable.

Hancock Hill – Desk Hike

At the University of Sul Ross in Alpine Texas there is a hike. Aat the end of the far end of the hike is a desk. Why is it there and who put it there? Click here to find out. Pam and I hiked up there to see it. Here is a map to the desk. Fun hike and took some great pictures; we also signed the notebook that is left in the desk drawer. It is the Hancock Hill Hike in All Trails.

Marfa, Valentine & Alpine Texas

We went on a tour of these three towns. After Marfa, on our way to Valentine, we ran into the roadside art display from the motion picture “Giant” with James Dean, Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson.

Then, we went to the Prada Marfa art exhibit. Again pretty cool.

Finally, we ended up in Alpine. Another nice town with lots of murals and artwork. We had a great Mexican food for lunch at a new restaurant (old El Patio). Very nice.
