Thanksgiving Cookout

Pam and Terry did a great job cooking Thanksgiving dinner! Instead of turkey, we had pork roast with stuffing, sweet potatoes, salad, cranberries, carrots and of course pie (pumpkin and apple).

Great leftovers the next day.

Ladies World Record Skydive

The day before Thanksgiving, we drove to the local airport and Skydive Arizonia. Over the holiday, they will attempt to set a world record with 100 ladies jumping from 5 planes; they need to all touch at the same time. The current record is 65 set in 2016.

We saw a practice jump. In the video, you can see many skydivers coming down.

Here is a news article.

Palm Creek Again

Last week on the 17th of November, we arrived back in Palm Creek Resort and Residences in Casa Grande, Arizonia. Our traveling companions, Kirk and Terry showed up the next day.

Kelly bought a set of used Callaway golf clubs and a Ping golf bag for Pam at a local rummage sale and has been using them to golf a few times.

Days are warm in the high 60’s; nights are in the low 40’s. The sun shines every day. We have enjoyed walking and relaxing. And the night sky is beautiful.

Saturday, we drove to Phoenix to test drive Lectric eBikes. Pretty much decided we will get the new 3.0 Step through bikes when we return to Arizonia. Stopped by the Airstream dealer for fun and then ended our day at the San Tan Brewery.

Jojoba Hills SKP – California

Where are Pam and Kelly - Go to Calendar / Events in the Menu

Not much to blog about this week. We got tired of the rain in northern California and not being able to do much outside. So, we left Crescent City on Monday and headed south.

Monday, we traveled 248 miles to Redwood Empire Campground in Ukiah, California. A simple overnight stay.

Tuesday, we traveled 348 miles to Lost Hills KOA in Lost Hills, California. All we did here was rest, sleep and go.

Wednesday, we traveled 181 miles to Shady Lane RV Campground in Barstow, California. This was a very tight no frills campground. Easy in / Easy out.

On Thursday, we traveled 141 miles to Jojoba Hills SKP RV Resort. This is another Escapees Co-op RV community. It is in the high desert southeast of LA. Very nice community with huge lots and nice amenities. We are staying here for a week to rest and relax.

Next Thursday, we will head East back to Arizonia. We are going back to Palm Creek for 17 days. Meeting up again with our Caravan friends – Terry and Kirk.

On November 5th, drop-off our Airstream to the dealer for warranty repairs in Chandler, AZ and head back to Wisconsin for Christmas and New Year’s. We will be there for a month before returning to Arizonia in early January.

Trees of Mystery

On Saturday, we had a break in the rain in the afternoon. Pam and I went to the “Trees of Mystery”. From the road, this looks like your typical tourist trap; large Paul Bunyan and Babe statues out front and lots of parking. Don’t let that scare you away. This was actually a very cool place and well work the $20/person.

They have the “Redwood Canopy Trail”, which are netted canopy bridges connected together 1/2 way up the large redwoods. There are platforms around each tree.

They also have the “SkyTrail“. which is a 1/3-mile journey through the forest tree tops via a Swiss gondola. A total of 8 Gondola Cars continuously make the approximately 8-10 minute, 1570-foot trip up the mountain – giving riders not only spectacular views of magnificent redwoods. At the top, there is an observation deck where we could see the ocean.

There are lots of redwood sculptures throughout the trails and a huge gift shop.
