Sabino Canyon Trail

The group traveled to Sabino Canyon to walk the trails. Another great set of trails in Tucson. We started at the visitor center at the Bear Canyon Trailhead.

We walked up the Phoneline trail, but it we could not stay on it due the creek running strong from recent rains. We changed course and hiked to the Sabino Damn which created Sabino Lake.

Camino de Santiago (virtually)

To get in shape and prepare for walking the Camino later this year, Pam and I have decided to walk the Camino de Santiago (virtually) along with some friends and family. This will be a 400-mile virtual hike using your phone / fit bit / apple watch to record activity. So far, we have 7 people. Pam, Kelly, Nancy, Marge, Kayla, Terry & Kirk.

If anyone is interested, let me know. My code gets 10% off (around $35 net) and you get a medal at the end! Use the link above or my code: KM11700.

Join us if you would like. I have also created a “Community” to watch / track just the people in our group: “A Meer Walk” with invitation code: AMEERWDBA0

We plan to start February 1st. Pam and I will set a goal to complete in 12 weeks (12,000 steps per day). But everyone sets their own goals.

Tucson Update

We have been at Desert Trails RV Park for a couple of weeks. We leave next week on the 31st and head back to Palm Creek for February and March.

The weather turned cool (55-degree highs / 30-degree lows). But sunny. Not hiking as much as we should. A couple of 4 and 5 mile hikes in the Tuscon Mountain Park. The RV Park is right next to the park.

We traveled back to Benson, AZ to visit the SKP Coop (we are on the waiting list) and have lunch at Mi Casa with Terry and Kirk. We reaffirmed how much we like the SKP park and Mi Casa Restaurant. For fun, we stopped at the local San Pedro Golf Course for a drink. Nice place with great views.

We toured a couple of Robson 55+ retirement communities, but decided we are not ready yet to buy in Arizona. Going to focus on our future property on Squaw Lake in Wisconsin.

Tuscon, Arizonia

Due to an incoming winter storm, we took off south a day earlier than planned. We left an hour after Kelly arrived back in Hudson after the Packers Game New Year’s Day.

We drove the 1,600 miles in 3 nights / 4 days to get to Chandler, AZ to pick up our Airstream Trailer. We had warranty work done at the dealership. They did a great job with everything. The awing now works great now.

We are staying at Desert Trails RV Park for 3 weeks through January 31st. We are in site C5, which is fabulous. Meeting back up with Terri and Kirk who have been staying here a month already. We stated here before in March of 2021.

We are looking forward to hiking the Saguaro National Park which is right behind our trailer. Billy is happy and looking forward to getting outside in the sunshine.

Packer vs Vikings on New Year’s Day

I was very fortunate to get 4 tickets to the Packers vs. Vikings game on New Year’s Day – Thank You Travis!!!

Great seats in Section 111 Row 1 Seats 1 & 2, Row 2 Seats 1 & 2. We were on the Vikings sideline at about the 6 yard line. It seemed like we were on the field.

I took 3 golf buddies. Barry Boardman, Bob Davis and Dan Steel. Fun bunch of guys (3 Packer’s fans and Barry a Vikings fan). There were about 10% Vikings fans, but the Packer’s fans were able to drown them out. Not too many Skol chants.

What a great day all around. We drove to Lambeau Field the morning of the game, and then stayed overnight an hour away in Wittenberg.

Packers Win Big! Packers 41 Vikings 17.

Lambeau Field – Packers Win!
