On Sunday, we started the trek west. We have 7 days to get to Idaho to start our next caravan. We Bonzied it to Wyoming; we wanted to get to or past the Rockies so we were close to Idaho.

Sunday, we drove 6-1/2 hours / 386 miles to Seward, NE. We stayed a simple city campground, called the Blue Valley Camping Area. It was only $10 with 30amp electricity. They have a water fill station and a dump station. They have 16 first come / first serve sites that were level and easy to back into.

Monday, we drove 7 hours / 459 hours to Laramie, Wyoming. We stayed at a National Forest Service campground called Vedauwoo. This was also $10/night but was completely dry camping, no electricity, water or dump station. What a beautiful campground. The rock formations were amazing. The roads are a bit tight for a long trailer, we navigated it with no problem. We highly recommend this campground. It is also first come / first served.

While there, we visited the Abraham Lincon Memorial Monument. The Lincoln Monument is a bust of Abraham Lincoln by Robert Russin, 12+1⁄2 feet (3.8 m) high and resting on a 30-foot-tall (9.1 m) granite pedestal, at the Summit Rest Area on Interstate 80 east of Laramie, Wyoming. Russin originally erected the sculpture in 1959 nearby on Sherman Hill, overlooking the old U.S. Highway 30 (Lincoln Highway). In 1969, after Interstate 80 was built, state officials moved the monument to become a centerpiece at the Summit Rest Area and Visitor Center between the cities of Cheyenne and Laramie.

We also stopped to see the Ames Monument which was only a couple of miles from the campsite. The Monument is a large pyramid in Albany County, Wyoming, designed by Henry Hobson Richardson and dedicated to brothers Oakes Ames and Oliver Ames, Jr., Union Pacific Railroad financiers. It marked the highest point on the First Transcontinental Railroad, at 8,247 feet (2,514 m).

Wednesday, we drove 5-1/2 hours / 363 miles to Coalville, Utah. We stayed at Dry Hollow Campground – Echo State Park. This state park is $35/night and has 50amp electric and water. There is no dump station. The park is very new and has fantastic and large sites. Our site #6 is backed up the reservoir. Highly recommend this campground. We simply relaxed and rested up.
