Caravan Stop #1: The caravan officially started on July 12th at Northern Lights RV in Dawson, Creek which is the start of the Alaskan Highway – Mile Zero. A very nice full service campground. On site restaurant and very clean.

The Alaskan Highway was built in 9 months during WWIII. Amazing effort to build this 1,700 mile road and all the bridges needed. Wow.

Pam and I had breakfast at Don’s Diner which is in the Airport. The food was outstanding and huge portions. We watched 2 helicopters take off and land.

We had dinner at the George Dawson Inn restaurant and Makenna from the visitor center gave a highly energetic presentation on the town and the Alaskan Highway. She also has a jeep and so she put a duck on our jeep, so we gave her a pink duck (it is a jeep thing).

We visited the Kiskatinaw Bridge (curved bridge) where we met a nice family from Taiwan (Kitty, her husband and their daughter Anne). Really fun people.
