On Wednesday, we had a kite flying competition. Terry won for the longest run. Diana won for longest in the air. Kelly won for highest flyer.

On Tuesday, Terry, Kirk, Pam and Kelly hiked the lighthouse trail. Very nice 2 mile hike. A big challenging with mud and lots of tree roots to trip on. But very rewarding. Pam took lots of pictures of mushrooms along the way.
We went to dinner a the Homegrown Public House. Food was great. Beer was good. Pam and Terry found their new favorite “Razzle Drop Martini”. We then went to the beach for a cold and windy sunset.

On Sunday, after getting up at 6:15am to watch the Packers loose, we traveled 127 miles to Heceta Beach RV Park in Florance, Oregon.
Monday was a day on our own. Pam and I went to the Old Town Center and enjoyed a day of walking around, shopping and relaxing.

On Thursday, we visited the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville. This is the home of the Spruce Goose. At the time, the largest airplane ever built. It was engineered and developed by Howard Hughes and only flown for 1 mile. Below is a video on the journey of the Spruce Goose to McMinnville – Interesting.
Some of us took the guided tour through the plane and were able to get up into the cockpit and sit in the pilot chair. Very Fun!
The aviation museum has may aircraft and space craft; highly recommend stopping by for a few hours if you are in the area.

Before leaving Astoria, Pam and I drove to Long Beach back in Washington. We hiked the beach and had lunch. The next day, the group toured the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and we hiked to the North Head Lighthouse which is still active today.
On Wednesday, we drove 157 miles to the Evergreen Aviation Museum where we stayed 1 night in the Harvest Host location. On the way, we stopped in Tillamook to tour the Tillamook Creamery.
The next day, we moved to Olde Stone Village RV Park; all in McMinnville, Oregon. The RV Park was very, very nice. Level concrete pads for the trailer and truck with nice grass. The clubhouse and facilities were outstanding.
On Thursday, we spend that day at the Museum, toured the Spruce Goose (separate post) and watched the new Top Gun movie in their IMax Theater.
On Friday, we went to Durant Winery, where we toured their Olive Oil Mill and had a wine tasting. We never did an olive oil tasting (with bread) before. It was fun.
Saturday was a lazy day to catch up on tasks and relax.
