Dana Thomas House

Along with Nancy Theis, we visited the Dana Thomas House in Springfield, IL. The home is largely how it was early in the century. A very nice tour that is free of charge. Unfortunately, they did not allow any photos.

Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1902 for Susan Lawrence Dana, a forward-thinking socialite living in Springfield, Illinois. The home, the 72nd building designed by Wright, contains the largest collection of site-specific, original Wright art glass and furniture. Wright’s first “blank check” commission, the home has 35 rooms in the 12,000 square feet of living space which includes 3 main levels and 16 varying levels in all.

Pam and I made it back to Hudson Wisconsin on Monday. We are staying with Pam’s mom. The weather is slightly different than Arizona!

Leaving Arizona

Well, after 8 weeks of the easy life of Golf, Swiming, Hot Tubs, Bingo and lots of quiet walks, we are leaving Palm Creek Resort. It was very relaxing and we made lots of new friends.

We are heading north to see family in Owatonna, MN. On the way we will stop in Barry Illinois to see Scott and Nancy.

Today, we passed through Winslow, AZ and took a few pictures of “Standin’ on the Corner Park” from the Eagles song Take it Easy.

We drove 480 miles to Albuquerque, NM. Stayed overnight at another Harvest Host: Star Brothers Brewery. We each enjoyed a flight of beer and some food.
