Thanksgiving at the Range

Wow, Wow, Wow. We enjoyed a full Thanksgiving meal with smoked turkey (7 of them) with all the fixings. Executive Chef Keith Browning served a meal to remember for a lifetime. They served 59 people in the barn. Finished up the night with a huge bonfire. An football on the big screen.

Solo Stove – Ranger

Pam and I decided to visit Airstream of DFW along with the Robertson family. Pam and I looked at the new Pottery Barn (27RBT) as well as a Classic (30RBT). We came to the conclusion what we love our Globetrotter (27FBQ).

While there, we decided to buy a Solo Stove Ranger. These are known as “Smokeless Firepits”. We made a fire the first night from twigs and branches laying around our campsite. Fantastic fire. A great purchase.

The Range Vintage Trailer Park

Sarah and Paul, the owners and operators of The Range Vintage Trailer Resort have poured their hearts and souls into this place. Their mission is to create a place that Airstream owners always dreamed of finding. With a lot of thought and planning, based on their own travel experience and advice and wishes from fellow Airstream and vintage trailer owners, we think they’ve done it.

We made great new friends in Stuart and Kate Robertson along with their 3 kids and Buster, a fun Golden Retriever. They also introduced us to their parents Linda and Dean as well as their friends Allison & Brett as well as Jamie &John. All Airstreamers! We will definitely stay in touch with them all and see them again.

It is a special place and we look forward to returning. We stayed 5 nights in Site 15 which was outstanding with lots of privacy and a huge oak tree with lights hanging from the branches.

Although we could not use the pool due the to cold weather, it is top kotch. The restaurant and Globetrotter bar are open on the weekends.

Our New Home Base

We arrived in Livingston Texas and have moved our domicile here. We have registered our truck and trailer as well as getting Texas driver’s licenses and registered to vote. We are now residents of Texas. With no state income tax, we will even save a few tax dollars with my final paychecks from Syntegon :)!

Now we just need to get Cowboy Boots and Hats to make it official!

Our home base is with the Escapees RV Club, which has mail forwarding service. They collect and scan all of our mail. We can then review each piece of mail, and decide to shred, scan or forward the mail to wherever we are at the time. They also help you with setting up your domicile.

We are staying a week at their campsite in Livingston – Rainbow’s End right at the headquarters in site 117.

Our New Address:

232 Rainbow Drive #13218

White “Tale” Ranch

Another nice Harvest Host in Dekalb Texas. White Tale Ranch has been in the same family since 1913. Family and friends have enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing on the property. Today, the ranch servers as a homestead to four generations of the White family.

We stayed one night, and enjoyed the farm animals and quiet setting. They sell a variety of items at their store. We bought eggs and jellies. Both were great.
