Bluegrass Concert

Dick and Becky arranged for a group to perform at Cool Breeze Campground. The concert was very nice. They played a bunch of local music, original songs and told jokes along the way. It was a nice way to cap off a travel day.

After the ride, some of us had lunch at the Wicked Chicken. Nice outdoor dining with great wings and cold beer.

Grand Father Revisited & MacRae Peak

On Tuesday, a group of us revisited Grand Father Mountain and the Swinging Bridge. What a difference a few days makes. It was sunny and warm.

Pam, Celeste and I then decided to take the Grandfather Trail to MacRae Peak. It was a 0.9 mile hike to the peak with some challenging climbing up rocks and ladders. We lost count, but there were at least 8 ladders. What a fantastic and challenging hike. The views from the top were amazing.

Hike: Boon Fork Trail

Doug on our Caravan organized a great 5.2 mile hike at the Julian Price Memorial Park: Boone Fork Trail. Just Gorgeous. We had 12 People and 2 dogs. We had a great time. T

Epic hike! Took us 3 hours & 45 minutes to complete. Went clockwise through the campgrounds first. Beautiful, well-maintained, well-marked trail with small water crossings, stairs, and rock scrambles to navigate. It was challenging but doable. Hiking poles were helpful.
