After visiting Crazy Horse, we headed to the Devils Tower National Monument, the first National Monument in US history.
We stayed at the appropriately named campground: Devil Towers View RV Park. We could literally view the monument out the windshield.
Did you know, a guy parachuted to the top, and was stuck for 6 days or that there is still a 35′ ladder from 1863 wedged into a crack? Find these in the photos.

Pam and I have begun or epic journey to Alaska and back. First, we are going to see the Tetons, Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks.
We joining up with 26 other Airstreams for a 60-day trek from Canda to Alaska and back via the Alaskan Highway.

As we posted before, we traded in our 33 foot Airstream Classic trailer and Ford F250 truck for a Class B Airstream Atlas and 2022 Jeep. We flat tow the Jeep behind the RV, ready for adventure. We went from a total of 56 feet down to 42.
We have a Starlink Mini, so we should be connected to the internet for the whole trip.

It has been a long time since I have posted, and we have had a bunch of changes. We traded in our 33′ Airstream Classic Trailer on a 25′ Airstream Atlas Class B+ Motorhome. We also traded in the Beast (2020 Ford F-250) on a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. We want to get more nimble and make it easy to get into State and National Parks. Our plan is to “Flat Tow” the Jeep behind the motorhome. Pam feels comfortable driving, and it really made it much easier with her being willing and able to drive a few hours. She did great!
We decided to take the new rig on a trip to learn the pros / cons and see how we like it. It is fantastic. Super nimble and east to setup and teardown. We can get in almost any campsite. We tried to stay in State parks on the trip.
The motorhome was winterized, so we had to get to warmer weather before we could fill it with water. We first traveled to Monroe, WI for a quick visit with Pam’s uncle Bob and then kept going south. We drove 386 miles and stayed in a hotel in Oglesby, IL the first night.
We then traveled 438 miles to Spring Green Campground in Clarksville, TN. Just an overnight stay where we could de-winterize and fill our water tank.
New we travelled 225 miles to James H. (Sloppy) Floyd State Park, GA. We stayed 2 nights so Kelly could get some work done for Syntegon and Pam did some nice hiking. We were also able to really start to settle into the new setup.
Next up, we drove a short 107 miles to Chattahoochee Bend State Park in Newnan, GA. We were able to get there in the early afternoon and enjoy more hiking and exploring.
The next morning, we drove to see Kayla and Ryan who are living in Peachtree, GA. The area they live in is a “Golf Cart” community. We had a very nice visit and took a tour of the town in Kayla’s golf cart. Pam and I really liked the area and it was so fun / convenient to get around on the golf cart paths. They had a company part that night, so we headed out that afternoon to High Falls State Park. A short 81-mile day. The falls are very nice, and we got some good pictures.
The next day we drove 284 miles to our final destination, Jekyll Island Campground in Gorgia; south of Savana on the ocean. We spent 3 nights on the island and high recommend it as a destination. The campground is quite nice, and the island has lots to explore. We wish we would have had our eBike to explore the 17 miles of trails. Jekyll Island has a long history, but it was the winter playground for the rich and famous. Now most of the mansions are part of the state park.
We took the Night Trolley Ride to see all the Christmas lights. We also hiked to Driftwood Beach and walked the entire beach. We will definitely return in the future.
Finally, we took the shortest / fastest route back to Wisconsin. On the way, we had to re-winterize the camper in Tennessee before heading into the frozen tundra of Illinois and Wisconsin.
All in All a very successful and fun trip.

A week ago, we arrived back in Palm Creek RV Park. We plan to be here for 4 months (until mid-April).
We are enjoying getting back to golf and other activities. Pam has joined back up with her sewing friends. Kelly is back in the golf league with his buddies and golfing every Wednesday. Pam and Kelly are golfing on Fridays in the couple’s scramble. All very fun.
The weather has been great. 70 and sunny every day; 40’s at night. Top-down weather in Pam’s car.
