Horseshoe Sunset

Pam and I went back to horseshoe for sunset. We took a long hike north, and built a few stone piles. Very nice.

Skylight Arch

This was a very nice hike from Arizona into Utah. We drove to within 1 mile of the trailhead, and then hiked. In the end, it was a 5 mile hike. Sunlight Arch is more like a hole in the ground that forms an arch (hence Skylight).

Hiking out and back, we did not run into anyone until we got within a few hundred feet of our truck. In the end, we only encountered 3 people and a dog.

Glen Canyon Damn / Lake Powell

Glen Canyon Damn creates Lake Powell. Unfortunately, the visitor center is still closed due to Covid. So, no tours. We walked the bridge on Saturday, and then went to the Scenic Overlook on Sunday. Both had great views.

Horseshoe Bend

Wow. We headed over (only 6 miles away) Easter morning. Hoping to beat the crowds. Wow, how fantastic. The picture taking was great. We were able to get to the edge and take some awesome photos!

Page Lake Powell Campground

Staying at this campground for a week. Once again, very nice location. Only 6 miles from Horseshoe Bend and 1 mile from the Glen Canyon Dam. A few miles north is Powell Lake (created by the damn).

The site is big, but basically a gravel parking lot with full hookups. The pool is closed for maintenance. The nights are quite and peaceful. Should be good for work this week.
